Everyone knows everyone in this secluded corner of the Nordic North. But the elements in Utmark are strange and wild, and outsiders don’t always fare well. When an optimistic new schoolteacher rolls in, she is hopeful for a fresh start. But she will soon learn that the only person behaving remotely maturely in this town is a 12-year-old girl.

Following Utmark's struggling larger-than-life characters, the series is about finding one's place - whether it is finding yourself after being left by your partner, trying to grow up, moving on after the death of a loved one or simply getting your dead husband’s soul out of your body through an exorcism. It's about accepting life’s curveballs and touches upon all the aspects that make us human: love, death and cross dressing.

Welcome to Utmark’s main cast includes Tobias Santelmann (Beforeigners, The Last Kingdom, Marcella), Marie Blokhus (Chasing the Wind, The 12th Man, Børning), Alma Günther (Side by Side, Snowfall) and Stig Henrik Hoff (Beforeigners, The Last King, Hawaii, Oslo).

The main cast are joined by Marius Lien, May-Linda Kosumovic, Rozafe Chelaj, Gard Bjørnstjerne Eidsvold, Nils Johnson, Ingrid Vollan, Ingvild Holthe Bygdnes, Kamilla Grønli Hartvig, Maria Bock, Jonas Strand Gravli, Niklas Gundersen, Ingunn Øyen, Frank Kjosås, Nader Khademi, Pelle Heikkilä and Eero Milonoff.

Welcome to Utmark is produced by Finn Gjerdrum and Stein Kvae at Paradox Film 8 AS and Executive Producers for HBO Europe are Hanne Palmquist, Camilla Curtis and Steve Matthews for HBO Europe.
