SF Studios, the leading distribution and production company in the Nordics, has signed a new deal with Warner Bros. to manage their physical (DVD and Blu-ray) home entertainment releases in the Nordic market.

The new deal, which covers both film and television series, will be effective from summer 2020 and expands on SF Studios and Warner Bros. existing relationship. SF Studios currently serves as the theatrical distributor for Warner Bros’ slate in the Nordics which includes Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland.

Upcoming Warner Bros. titles, which SF Studios will now handle the physical home entertainment releases for, include new titles such as Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman 1984, Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated Tenet, as well as catalogue titles including the massively successful Harry Potter franchise and the global award-winning television phenomenon, Game of Thrones.

SF Studios has for many years been a leading distributor in the home entertainment sector in the Nordics and this agreement reflects SF Studios’ and Warner Bros. mutual strong belief in the physical home entertainment format and the commitment to drive this business forward.

“We are very happy and proud to have entered into this new agreement with Warner Bros.”, says Martin Brandtler, Nordic Head of Home Entertainment Distribution at SF Studios. “The entertainment landscape is constantly shifting, especially during these uncertain times, but one factor remains consistent: audiences’ appetite for content. We are thrilled to be able to share Warner Bros’ expansive library with consumers in the Nordics and look forward to releasing their exciting slate in due course on home entertainment.”

“During the negotiations we’ve been impressed by SF Studios, their passion and dedication to the physical format” and we are looking forward working together” says Johan Mannerhill, MD Nordic at Warner Bros. Home Ent. Group.
