SF Studios starts shooting A Swedish Christmas Tale

SF Studios’ upcoming family film A Swedish Christmas Tale (Sagan om Karl-Bertil Jonssons julafton) has started shooting in the surroundings of Gothenburg. The feature film is directed by internationally acclaimed director Hannes Holm (A Man Called Ove, Ted – Show Me Love) and is an adaptation of author Tage Danielsson’s beloved Christmas tale of the same name. As previously announced, the film will star 14-year old Simon Larson in the leading role as Karl-Bertil Jonsson. Jonas Karlsson (Quick, The Snowman) will play his father Tyko and Jennie Silfverhjelm (Beck, I’ll Be Home for Christmas, Aniara) will play his mother Marianne. The shooting will take place in the western part of Sweden between October 20 and November 26 and then continue in Stockholm between December 1 and December 11. The film will premiere in cinemas in November 2021.
