SF Studios has acquired the film rights to the acclaimed author Emma Hamberg's new book Je m’appelle Agneta, which was launched last week on March 18th. The story will be developed into a Swedish drama comedy, produced by SF Studios and Emma Hamberg will be creatively involved in the process.

The story is about forty-nine-year-old Agneta, who has lost all control and joy in her life after the children have moved out and with a husband and co-workers who do not appreciate her, nor understand who she is.  Agneta decides to change her life and responds to a newspaper ad in the belief that she will be an au pair for a lonely boy in a large Provencal house. Leaving the children and domestic shores to her husband to attend to, Agneta embarks on an adventure and leaves for Provence. But once there, nothing is as she expected. The boy is apparently an elderly demented gentleman living in a monastary without monks. Life is celebrated through cheese, wine, dance and a bit of eroticism – very different from Agneta’s references of fun with paddling, crossword puzzles or bird watching. A new chapter in Agneta's life starts.

Je m'appelle Agneta will be produced and distributed by SF Studios and the production is expected to start in 2022.
