Swedish stars Nanna Blondell and Sverrir Gudnason join Jasper Pääkkönen in the action thriller Omerta 6/12

The upcoming action thriller Omerta 6/12 will star the acclaimed actors Nanna Blondell (Red Dot, Black Widow, The Inner Circle) and Sverrir Gudnason (Falling, Borg vs. McEnroe, The Girl in the Spider’s Web). The renowned Finnish actor Jasper Pääkkönen (Da 5 Bloods, BlacKkKlansman, Vikings) has the leading role. Omerta 6/12 will also become a TV series for C More. The feature film and TV series are directed by Aku Louhimies (Unknown Soldier) and it is based on the bestselling novel 6/12 by the Finnish author Ilkka Remes. The ongoing shooting will wrap up at the end of February and the film is expected to premiere in cinemas in November 2021. The film is produced by Cinematic and SF Studios will distribute the film in the Nordics. REinvent International Sales will handle worldwide sales.

The lead character in Omerta 6/12 is Max Tanner, a Finnish secret service agent operating for EU’s special forces. He will be played by Jasper Pääkkönen, most recently known for his roles in the Academy Award winning film BlacKkKlansman, the acclaimed film Da 5 Bloods and the popular HBO series Vikings. The other two leading roles are played by Nanna Blondell and Sverrir Gudnason.

Nanna Blondell is one of Sweden’s rising international stars. She is known from the TV series The Inner Circle and will soon be seen in MARVEL’s Black Widow and in the first Swedish Netflix feature film Red Dot, that will be released on Netflix on February 11. In Omerta 6/12, Blondell plays the Swedish secret service agent Sylvia Madsen.

Icelandic-Swedish Sverrir Gudnason is an internationally acclaimed actor and European Film Award nominee with performances in films such as Falling, Charter, Borg vs. McEnroe and The Girl in the Spider’s Web, as well as the popular TV series Love Me and Wallander. In Omerta 6/12, he is leading the Serbian groups in the role as Vasa Jankovic.

On top of that we have all these internationally credited and talented actors, that will bring a powerful story to the screens. Their work has been intense and dedicated. The shooting has been on schedule and is coming to an end. We are excited to release the film in the end of this year”, says director Aku Louhimies.

The international cast also includes Swedish Dragomir Mrsic (Edge of Tomorrow, Easy Money, Alex), Miodrag Stojanovic (The November Man, Easy Money, The Bridge), Slaven Španović (A Perfect Day), Croatian Zijad Gračić (The Paper, Succession), Irish Michael Yare (Game of Thrones, Line of Duty) and Estonian Märt Pius, Priit Pius, Mirtel Pohla and Juhan Ulfsak (Tenet).

Omerta 6/12 also stars the Finnish actors Joonas Saartamo, Laura Malmivaara, Wanda Dubiel, Robert Enckell, Nika Savolainen, Dennis Nylund, Andrei Alén, Kris Gummerus, Pekka Strang and Eero Milonoff.

Several languages will be spoken in Omerta 6/12, primarily Finnish, English and Swedish.

Finland’s Independence Day celebration on December 6 is crudely interrupted by an attack to the Presidential Residence. A set of distinguished guests are taken as hostages. Security service officer Max Tanner (Jasper Pääkkönen) is set as the negotiator of the hostage crisis and soon it is clear that the main target behind the terrorist attack is a plan to destabilize the security of Europe. Tanner must make bold and even painful decisions to figure out who is behind the attack. After all, there are not only human lives to protect - but the future of Europe as a whole.

Omerta 6/12 is based on the bestselling novel “6/12” by llkka Remes. The final script is written by Jari Olavi Rantala based on the screenplay by Antti J. Jokinen and Mika Karttunen.

The film is expected to premiere in cinemas in November 2021. The four-episode TV series will be released on C More in 2022.

Omerta 6/12 is produced by the Finnish production company Cinematic with producers Antti J. Jokinen, Sikka Rautiainen, Mikko Tenhunen, Evelin Penttilä and executive producers Mikko Kodisoja, Thomas Fanning and Sara Norberg from Cinematic and Yaba Holst from SF Studios. The film and TV series are co-produced with Estonian Stellar Film and with the support from The Finnish Film Foundation, Business Finland - Audiovisual Production Incentive, Film Estonia cash rebate, Ida-Viru Film Fund and Tartu Film Fund.
