The Angel Maker is an intense thriller about detective Laura, who specializes in cybercrime. She has been on sick leave with psychosis after postpartum depression, but stumbles across a case of a bestial serial killer by chance. This piques her interest and she decides it is time to return.

The Angel Maker will premiere in Danish theatres on June 8, but will also be available on screens around the world, where more than 40 countries have secured the rights to the film. The demand for the film increased as the film was shown at the Berlinale and the Cannes International Film Festival earlier this year. Some of the largest markets that will show the Danish film are India, South America, Germany, Spain and Italy.

Helene Aurø, Sales & Marketing Director REinvent International Sales, who is the international sales agent for the film, says: "Many countries demand genre films like The Angel Maker. The film has currently been sold to over 40 countries internationally, and we expect more sales in the coming months. Both for Berlin and the Cannes film festival, agreements came home in the suitcase with, among other things, German-speaking countries, France, Italy, Spain, South America and India".

Julie R. Ølgaard, who produced, wrote, directed and starred in The Angel Maker, talks about the international sales: "When I first heard how many countries The Angel Maker has been sold to, I was about to fall off my chair. The Angel Maker is a film that is very close to my heart and the thought that people all over the world - literally - will now see it, makes me infinitely proud and very happy! It's SO wild and amazing that our film gets a life all over the world. That Laura's story and the important themes get out widely and hopefully make people think twice - or at least create some debate and food for thought".

The Angel Maker is based on an original idea by Julie R. Ølgaard, who is also the conceptual director in collaboration with Esben Tønnesen. Thus, Julie R. Ølgaard both participates and directs in addition to having written and produced. Julie R. Ølgaard has assembled an impressive cast around her. In addition to Julie, Roland Møller, Christopher Læssø, Stine Stengade, Niels Anders Thorn, Andrea Vagn Jensen, Neel Rønholt, Christian Halken and Marc Harpsøe and others.

The Angel Maker is privately financed in collaboration with Film Invest ApS and Vækstfonden. The film is distributed by SF Studios and premieres in Danish theatres on June 8, 2023.
