When Nelly Rapp reunites with her mother, Alice, she learns that a terrible danger is lurking. Matilda Gross returns in the lead role, having made her film debut in the first Nelly Rapp movie. She is joined by both new and familiar faces in her battle against evil. The film is directed by Johan Rosell (Nelly Rapp – The Secret of the Black Forest), with a screenplay by sisters Sofie and Tove Forsman (Young Royals), based on the popular Nelly Rapp books by Martin Widmark, illustrated by Christina Alvner and Emil Maxén.

The previous two films—Nelly Rapp – Monster Agent and Nelly Rapp – The Secret of the Black Forest—were both box office successes, with a combined audience of 260,000 in Swedish cinemas.

Nelly Rapp – The Gate to the Underworld is SF Studios’ third Nelly Rapp-film. The producers are Jonathan Ridings and Niklas Larsson, with Larsson previously producing the successful Nelly Rapp-films, while Ridings has also produced the popular JerryMaya’s Detective Agency-films and Burn All My Letters. Executive producer for SF Studios is Jon Nohrstedt.

The film is co-produced by Film i Väst and Sveriges Television with support from the Swedish Film Institute and The Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth. SF Studios distributes the film in the Nordic countries and REinvent handles international sales.
