Triangle of Sadness and director Ruben Östlund in LA at the Academy Awards

SF Studios’ distribution title Triangle of Sadness and director Ruben Östlund have made Swedish film history by being nominated for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay at the Academy Awards 2023. This weekend, SF Studios, Film i Väst and the Swedish Film Institute hosted a press conference and a cocktail event to celebrate this achievement.

Yesterday on March 12, the Academy Awards gala was held at the Dolby Theatre in LA and the big winner of the evening was Everything Everywhere All At Once with a total of 7 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay. SF Studios’ distribution title Women Talking also won an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay (Sarah Polley).

Triangle of Sadness has already won several prestigious international awards, such as the Palme d’Or in Cannes and Best Film, Best Director and Best Screenplay at the European Film Awards. The epic satiretakes place in the universe of the fashion world and the super-rich with international stars Woody Harrelson,Harris Dickson and Charlbi Dean in the leading roles.
