The film adaptation Burn All My Letters, based on Swedish author Alex Schulman’s success novel of the same name, has just started shooting in Sweden. International stars Bill Skarsgård, Asta Kamma August and Gustav Lindh play the leading roles in this passionate drama, which is directed by the internationally renowned and award-winning director Björn Runge. The film also stars the acclaimed actors Sverrir Gudnason, Sonja Richter, Marika Lindström and Sten Ljunggren. SF Studios produces the film and handles Nordic distribution.

The internationally acclaimed actor Sverrir Gudnason (Borg vs. McEnroe, Gentlemen, A Serious Game) will portray Alex Schulman in the film.

“The process of making a film of my novel has been a very special journey for me. Besides the fact that the elite of Swedish actors has joined the project, I am also thrilled and excited that Sverrir will portray me in the film. He is a tremendously talented actor with a sense a calmness on film and on stage that is mesmerizing”, says Alex Schulman, author.

Sonja Richter, who plays Amanda Schulman, is one of Denmark's greatest actresses (Open Hearts, The Bridge, Unit One) and she is featured in Netflix's upcoming Danish thriller Loving Adults, also produced by SF Studios.

As previously communicated, the international stars Bill Skarsgård (It: Chapters 1 & 2, Deadpool), Asta Kamma August (The Pact, Sex, Follow The Money) and Gustav Lindh (Rider of Justice, Love Me, Queen of Hearts) play the main characters Karin, Sven and Olof during the 1930s. Marika Lindström and Sten Ljunggren portray Karin Stolpe and Sven Stolpe in the 1980s. They are two of Sweden's most acclaimed actors with many iconic film and TV roles. Sten Ljunggren has also received a Guldbagge Award for his contribution to Swedish film.

“Bringing a film script to life is always a huge challenge, especially if you, like me, are interested in honesty. With this great story, extremely talented actors and dedicated production team, I am very excited to shoot this film and start the journey to the premiere”, says Björn Runge, director.

Burn All My Letters is produced by SF Studios with producers Annika Sucksdorff and Jonathan Ridings with the support from the Swedish Film Institute and in collaboration with SVT, Film i Väst and Film Stockholm. The film is developed with the support of the Creative Europe MEDIA programme of the European Union. Veronica Zacco is the scriptwriter.

The film will be shot at the Sigtuna foundation in Stockholm and in the western part of Sweden in August-September.

SF Studios handles Nordic distribution and the film is expected to premiere at cinemas in Sweden during fall 2022. REinvent handles international sales.
