Jacob Mühlrad composes the film score for Björn Runge’s and SF Studios’ passionate drama Burn All My Letters

Björn Runge, director & Jacob Mühlrad, composer

For the first time ever, the internationally acclaimed Jacob Mühlrad composes film score for SF Studios' upcoming film adaptation Burn All My Letters, directed by Björn Runge. In the leading roles we see international  stars Bill Skarsgård, Asta Kamma August and Gustav Lindh. The film was shot in Sweden in 2021 and is based on Alex Schulman's success novel of the same name. Burn All My Letters is expected to be released in Swedish cinemas in fall 2022 followed by an international release.

Last year, Jacob Mühlrad was praised in a number of international media for his album Time. Among other things, the album was presented with the highest rating in BBC Music Magazine and Mühlrad was called "one of the world's foremost orchestral composers" by Derek Robertson, writer for Under the Radar Magazine. At the beginning of the year, Mühlrad also released the symphonic work The One Symphony together with Swedish House Mafia. Burn All My Letters is Jacob Mühlrad's first original score for a feature film. The film music is written in close collaboration with the film's director Björn Runge.

“The music has been born through our conversations. When Björn digs into the the small delicate details of the characters and beautifully paints a picture of what he sees, the music comes to me”, says Jacob Mühlrad, composer.

"I have been interested in Jacob, since I listened to his piece Time at a concert hall in 2019. After this, I wanted to collaborate with him on an American sci-fi film, Stardream. But the pandemic put a stop to it. So when the opportunity to collaborate on Burn All My Letters came along, I was deeply grateful. He has an energy and talent that constantly adds a creative enthusiasm that is like spring water for me", says Björn Runge, director.

The internationally acclaimed actors Asta Kamma August (The Pact, Sex, Follow The Money) Bill Skarsgård (It: Chapters 1 & 2, Deadpool) and Gustav Lindh (Rider of Justice, Love Me, Queen of Hearts) portray the main characters Karin, Sven and Olof during the 1930s. Marika Lindström and Sten Ljunggren play Karin and Sven in the 1980s. Sverrir Gudnason (Borg vs. McEnroe, Gentlemen, A Serious Game) portrays Alex Schulman and Sonja Richter (Loving Adults, Open Hearts, The Bridge, Unit One) plays Amanda Schulman.

Burn All My Letters is produced by SF Studios with producers Annika Sucksdorff and Jonathan Ridings with the support from the Swedish Film Institute and in collaboration with SVT, Film i Väst and Film Stockholm. The film is developed with the support of the Creative Europe MEDIA programme of the European Union. Veronica Zacco is the scriptwriter.

The film was shot at the Sigtuna Foundation in Stockholm and in Västra Götaland during August - October 2021.

Burn All My Letters premieres in Swedish cinemas in fall 2022. SF Studios handles Nordic distribution and REinvent handles international sales.

As of January 2022, Jacob Mühlrad is internationally represented by the film music agency Annette Gentz | Music & Film Arts.
