SF Studios' production and distribution titles win 4 Guldbagge Awards
Tonight the Guldbagge Awards ceremony was held in Stockholm. The Guldbagge Awards celebrates outstanding achievements in the Swedish film industry. We are excited and proud that SF Studios’ production and distribution titles received a total of 13 nominations and won 4 awards at the gala tonight.
SF Studios' production titles The Conference (Konferensen) and The Abyss (Avgrunden) won for Best Make-Up Design (Tove Jansson, Eva von Bahr & Love Larson) and Best Visual Effects (Nora Berecoecha & Stefan Rycken) while our distribution title Together ’99 (Tillsammans ’99) won for Best Screenplay (Lukas Moodysson) and Best Supporting Actress (Anja Lundqvist).
Also, actress Inger Nilsson won the honorary award Gullspiran which honors trailblazers within the field of children’s film. Nilsson is dear to many of us through her portrayal of Pippi Longstocking in the films, produced by SF Studios, and tv-series of the same name which has proven to stand the test of time and endear audiences of every age and every nationality.

SF Studios begins production on The Closed Book starring Alba August and Gustav Lindh in a new film by Charlotte Sieling
The feature film adaptation of The Closed Book is now in production. Director Charlotte Sieling has begun principal photography, based on the bestselling novel by Jette A. Kaarsbøl, with Alba August (Becoming Astrid, Bullshit) and Gustav Lindh (The Northman, A Prayer For the Dying) starring as Frederikke and Frederik. The Closed Book is produced by SF Studios, with Lars Bredo Rahbek and Mette Marie Munch-Petersen as producers, with planned premiere in cinemas in summer 2027.
No Rest for the Wicked selected for Fantasia International Film Festival
SF Studios’ feature film No Rest for the Wicked has been selected for the Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal, where it will have its world premiere this summer. The film will compete for the coveted Cheval Noir top prize in the festival’s main selection.

Today, the new TV4 drama thriller Till Death Do Us Part is announced. Shot in Stockholm during the spring, the six-episode series stars Aliette Opheim (The Congregation, Caliphate, Black Crab) and Filip Berg (Whiskey on the Rocks, Trouble, A Man Called Ove). Julia Lindström directs the series with an original screenplay by Veronica Zacco. Per Janérus produces for Harmonica Films. The series is expected to premiere in the fall of 2026.

Today, SF Studios announces its new feature film, The Trip to Piedmont (Resan till Piemonte), directed by EFA-nominated Alexandra-Therese Keining, who also has written the screenplay based on an original idea. The film brings together four of Sweden’s most beloved actors - Helena Bergström, Kjell Bergqvist, Björn Kjellman, and Kajsa Ernst - in a rare ensemble collaboration. A heartwarming feelgood story set against the stunning backdrop of Italy, The Trip to Piedmont explores friendship and the beauty of second chances. Filming is currently underway in Italy, with the Swedish theatrical premiere slated for 2026.
