No. 24 is Best Opening for a Norwegian Film This Year

SF Studios’ Norwegian distribution title No. 24, which tells the story of legendary resistance fighter Gunnar "Kjakan" Sønsteby, opened to nearly 90,000 admissions at the Norwegian cinemas following its theatrical release on October 30. This impressive number makes it the top-opening Norwegian film of the year.

SF Studios boards film adaptation of Youtube-sensation IJustWantToBeCool's novel The Villain of Villains

SF Studios has boarded the feature film adaptation of The Villain of Villains, based on the best-selling book series by the Swedish YouTube group IJustWantToBeCool. Danish box office hit Kingmaker gets a sequel with the Film Adaptation of Fandens Forår

Lisa Langseth’s new film The Dance Club has started shooting

Kalevala: The Story of Kullervo, based on Finland’s national epic “Kalevala”, is set to start its principal shooting in Nurmes, North Karelia, Finland in September. Antti J. Pretty Young Love (Danish title: SMUKKERE), the sequel to the popular Danish youth film Pretty Young Thing (Danish title: SMUK), has started its principal shooting. The film is produced by SF Studios with Marcella Dichmann as producer and is expected to premiere in Danish theatres during summer 2025. SF Studios distributes the film in the Nordics. Quisling - The Final Days to have its international premiere at Toronto International Film Festival

Director Erik Poppe's Quisling - The Final Days will have its international premiere at Toronto International Film Festival in early September. The film, produced by SF Studios' Norwegian production company Paradox, will have its theatrical premiere on September 13 in Norway. Watch the trailer here.

SF Studios and Warner Bros. Discovery sign new partnership agreement

SF Studios and Warner Bros Discovery have signed a new content partnership agreement that gives WBD’s streaming service Max´s subscribers in the Nordics the opportunity to be the first to stream SF Studios’ local and international distribution titles, after the films have been shown at the cinema and offered as purchase and rental films.

SF Studios and SVT to produce new adaptation of Astrid Lindgren’s Life on Seacrow Island, Beta Film handles international sales

SF Studios and SVT (Sveriges Television) in collaboration with Beta Film Kids & Family are producing a new adaptation of Astrid Lindgren’s beloved series Life on Seacrow Island (Swedish title: Vi på Saltkråkan), directed by Fredrik Edfeldt. The six-episode series, written by Karin Arrhenius, takes place in modern times and will begin filming in Stockholm’s archipelago in June.

SF Studios is currently developing a new feature film about director Ingmar Bergman together with the production company Beret Film. Bergman will be played by the acclaimed Swedish actor Robert Gustafsson, and the screenplay is written by Henrik Jansson-Schweizer, Eric Broberg och Robert Gustafsson. Last week, on April 29, filming began for our TV2 production The New Nurses season 6 (Danish title: Sygeplejeskolen). Claudia Boderke and Lars Mering return as the main writers, while Senia Dremstrup produces for SF Studios. The series is set to premiere later this year on Danish TV2 Play and TV2 Charlie.

SF Studios’ production The Abyss tops the list as the most watched non-English film on Netflix

SF Studios' disaster film The Abyss (Swedish title: Avgrunden), which premiered in Swedish cinemas in September last year, has become a worldwide sensation on Netflix. During the first two weeks since its release on February 16, the film has attracted a total of 29,200,000 views and been the most watched non-English film for two consecutive weeks.
